Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.33% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:24AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Wipro(up 0.27 per cent) and MPhasis(up 0.2 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Persistent Systems(down 2.49 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd(down 0.79 per cent), Coforge(down 0.77 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 0.65 per cent) and L&T Technology(down 0.48 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was down 0.33 per cent at 29466.15 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 127.15 points at 19316.2, while the BSE Sensex was up 452.59 points at 65171.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, YES Bank and Brightcom Group were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of ADF Foods, Starteck Finance, Kore Digital, The Hi-Tech Gears and Suzlon Energy hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sanwaria Consumer, Gammon Infra, JBF Industries, Latteys Industries and CMI Ltd hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
