Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.2% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:45AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

MPhasis(up 0.99 per cent), Infosys(up 0.66 per cent), Wipro(up 0.27 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd(up 0.17 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Tech Mahindra(down 3.93 per cent), Coforge(down 0.68 per cent), HCL Technologies(down 0.33 per cent), Persistent Systems(down 0.26 per cent) and L&T Technology(down 0.06 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was down 0.2 per cent at 29740.4 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 19.6 points at 19797.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 22.96 points at 66730.16.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Reliance Power, PNB and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Netweb Technologies, Vesuvius India, Raj Oil Mills, Foseco India and ISMT Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while JohnsonCtrls Hitachi, Ace Integrated Solut, Godha Cabcon & Insul, Advitiya Trade India and Pentagon Rubber hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
