Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.09% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 11:16AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.
Coforge Ltd.(up 1.35 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(up 1.27 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.72 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 0.68 per cent) and Wipro Ltd.(up 0.45 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.77 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.44 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.32 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.21 per cent) and L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.15 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.09 per cent at 35837.15 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 2.1 points at 24377.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 33.64 points at 80607.43.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Welspun India, Suzlon Energy and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of BSE, Reliance Naval & Engg, Cura Tech, Bharti Airtel(PP)and Anupam Rasayan India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Godha Cabcon & Insul, GI Engineering, AGS Transact Tech, Gujarat Lease and Gensol Engg hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
