Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.08%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Friday.
Shares of Mindtree(up 0.75 per cent), Wipro(up 0.48 per cent), L&T Technology(up 0.31 per cent), Infosys(up 0.2 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(up 0.04 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Tech Mahindra(down 1.35 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 0.85 per cent), HCL Technologies(down 0.68 per cent), Coforge(down 0.36 per cent) and MPhasis(down 0.12 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.08 per cent down at 35394.45.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 144.8 points at 17784.35, while the BSE Sensex stood up 412.23 points at 59447.18.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 ended in the green, while 9 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Shree Ren Sug, JP Power and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Choice Intnl, Wendt India, Bharat Dynamics, Ganesh Benzo and Arman Financial hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vaxtex Cotfab, GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd., Sonam Clock and OrissaBengalCarrier hit their fresh 52-week lows.
