Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.03% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 09:59AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.
Coforge(up 0.95 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd(up 0.47 per cent), Wipro(up 0.22 per cent), Tech Mahindra(up 0.2 per cent) and Persistent Systems(up 0.17 per cent) were among the top gainers.
L&T Technology(down 1.3 per cent), MPhasis(down 0.51 per cent), Infosys(down 0.47 per cent) and HCL Technologies(down 0.14 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.03 per cent at 26680.35 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 29.7 points at 17648.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 131.61 points at 59699.41.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 0 were trading in the green, while 0 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Alok Industries, NMDC Steel Ltd., Suzlon Energy and Shree Ren Sug were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of TECIL Chemicals & Hydro Power Ltd., Mangalam Worldwide Ltd., Kirloskar Elec, Titagarh Wagons and Shera Energy Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while BEML Land Assets, India Glycols, Marico, Vikas Multicorp and Karda Const hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
