Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.03% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 09:58AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.
Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.21 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.11 per cent) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.
L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.78 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.76 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.62 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(down 0.27 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(down 0.14 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.03 per cent at 42631.05 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 2.06 points at 25043.15, while the BSE Sensex was up 30.84 points at 81952.13.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Zomato, Prism Johnson and Piramal Pharma were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Sandesh Ltd, Niraj Cement, SMS Pharma, Suraj Ltd and Prism Johnson hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Stampede Cap(DVR), Future Supply Chain, Gala Precision Engin, 8K Miles Soft and Shrenik hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
