Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 1.07% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 10:24AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 5.4 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(up 1.37 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.24 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.15 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.89 per cent) were among the top gainers.

MphasiS Ltd.(down 2.0 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.8 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(down 0.78 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.62 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was up 1.07 per cent at 37090.85 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 44.66 points at 21616.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 195.4 points at 71619.05.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of Indian Railway Fin, Vodafone Idea, NHPC, IFCI and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of HLV Ltd., Borosil Renewables, Bharat Road Net, Vikas Multicorp and Gandhi Special hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Tatva Chintan Pharm, Stampede Cap(DVR), Ugar Sugar Work, HDFC Bank and Inox India hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
