Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 1.01%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a positive note on Thursday.

Shares of Mindtree(up 1.92 per cent), Infosys(up 1.92 per cent), Coforge(up 1.69 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech(up 1.43 per cent) and L&T Technology(up 1.09 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, HCL Technologies(down 0.28 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty IT index closed 1.01 per cent up at 31914.35.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 206.65 points at 17245.05, while the BSE Sensex stood up 701.67 points at 57521.06.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 ended in the green, while 8 closed in the red.

Shares of TV18 Broadcast, Vodafone Idea, Alok Industries, YES Bank and Adani Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Pix Trans, Manaksia Ltd, InfoBeans Tech, Veranda Learning Solutions Ltd. and Agro Phos India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Karda Const, Zee Learn, FutureLifestyleFash, Future Consumer and Future Retail hit their fresh 52-week lows.
