Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.99%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a positive note on Thursday.

Shares of L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 1.95 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(up 1.8 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.45 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(up 1.36 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(up 1.32 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.33 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty IT index closed 0.99 per cent up at 32125.4.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 109.65 points at 19545.75, while the BSE Sensex stood up 405.53 points at 65631.57.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 ended in the green, while 18 closed in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, JP Power, Zomato and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of SoftTech Engineers, Murudeshwar Cera, Goodluck India, Utkarsh Small Financ and ENIL hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Baid Leasing, Shree Ram Proteins, Navin Fluorine, McNally Bharat and Winsome Yarns hit their fresh 52-week lows.
