Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.6% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 10:44AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.74 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(up 1.11 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.04 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(up 0.69 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(up 0.57 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Coforge Ltd.(down 0.86 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.37 per cent) and L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.18 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was up 0.6 per cent at 36951.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 185.41 points at 21647.65, while the BSE Sensex was up 621.15 points at 71808.01.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 were trading in the green, while 8 were in the red.

Shares of Indian Railway Fin, YES Bank, NHPC, Vodafone Idea and HUDCO were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Ganesh Housing, Liberty Shoes, Intrasoft Tech, HUDCO and Yash Pakka hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Digidrive Distributo, Stampede Cap(DVR), Tata Technologies, Nagreeka Capital and GIR Natureview hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
