Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.56% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:01AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Coforge(up 2.73 per cent), L&T Technology(up 1.38 per cent), Persistent Systems(up 1.26 per cent), Tech Mahindra(up 1.06 per cent) and Infosys(up 0.92 per cent) were among the top gainers.

MPhasis(down 0.97 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd(down 0.42 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was up 0.56 per cent at 29693.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 120.15 points at 18147.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 453.61 points at 61075.38.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., IDFC First Bank and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Chembond Chem, Banka Bioloo, Dynacons Sys, Radhika Jeweltech and Arihant Academy Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Goldstar Power, Godha Cabcon & Insul, SKIL Infrastructure, Atul and AGS Transact Technologies Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
