Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.43%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.

Shares of L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 1.68 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 1.09 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.86 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.54 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(up 0.42 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.93 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty IT index closed 0.43 per cent up at 34662.45.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 31.85 points at 21544.85, while the BSE Sensex stood up 30.99 points at 71386.21.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 ended in the green, while 23 closed in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Trident Ltd, RattanIndia Power and Alok Industries were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Visagar Polytex, Pavna Industries, Pondy Oxides, PNB Gilts and Hercules Hoists hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SKS Textiles, Muthoot Microfin, Raj Rayon, Gandhar Oil Refinery and IndInfravit Trust hit their fresh 52-week lows.
