Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.4% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 10:50AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

MphasiS Ltd.(up 3.63 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(up 1.88 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 1.73 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.31 per cent) and L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 1.09 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Infosys Ltd.(down 1.15 per cent) and Wipro Ltd.(down 0.27 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was up 0.4 per cent at 36824.25 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 154.15 points at 23344.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 492.41 points at 76840.47.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Manappuram Finance, Ola Electric Mobilit, YES Bank and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Manappuram Finance, AXISCADES Engg Tech, Ventive Hospitality, ITC Hotels and Bajaj Finance hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while AGS Transact Tech, Kesoram Inds., Prabha Energy, Future Enterprises (DVR)and Dhruv Consultancy hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
