Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.38% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:25AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Infosys(up 0.63 per cent), MPhasis(up 0.57 per cent), Tech Mahindra(up 0.49 per cent), HCL Technologies(up 0.42 per cent) and Wipro(up 0.39 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 0.13 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was up 0.38 per cent at 34259.7 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 84.3 points at 17176.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 303.72 points at 57604.4.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Adani Power, YES Bank and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Ganges Securities, Univastu India, Penta Gold, Bombay Metrics Supply Chain Ltd. and SEL Manufact hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vivo Collaboration Solutions Ltd., Richa Info Systems Ltd., Shanti Overseas(Ind, Crown Lifters and Nagreeka Capital hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
