Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.26% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 10:24AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Coforge(up 1.2 per cent), Wipro(up 0.56 per cent), L&T Technology(up 0.4 per cent), Tech Mahindra(up 0.38 per cent) and Infosys(up 0.38 per cent) were among the top gainers.

MPhasis(down 0.46 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 0.41 per cent) and Mindtree(down 0.02 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was up 0.26 per cent at 29964.75 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 125.45 points at 17823.6, while the BSE Sensex was up 427.68 points at 59890.46.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, Tata Steel, JP Power and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Arman Financial, KPI Global Infra, Pavna Industries Ltd., Home First Finance Company India Ltd. and Apollo Tyres hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SVP Global, Surya Roshni, Heranba Industries Ltd., Birla Tyres and GVK Power Infra hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
