Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.17% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:20AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Infosys(up 1.2 per cent), Coforge(up 0.61 per cent), HCL Technologies(up 0.42 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech(up 0.41 per cent) and Mindtree(up 0.32 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Tata Consultancy(down 0.71 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 0.48 per cent), L&T Technology(down 0.26 per cent) and Wipro(down 0.24 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was up 0.17 per cent at 38672.4 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 141.4 points at 18197.15, while the BSE Sensex was up 516.74 points at 61133.63.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 14 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, JP Power, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and Adani Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Timescan Logistics(India)Ltd., Menon Bearings, Indo Rama Synth, Dynacons Sys and Vaswani Ind hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while PayTM, Foce India Ltd. and Vikas Ecotech (PP)hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
