Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.14%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.

Shares of Larsen & Toubro Infotech(up 2.55 per cent), L&T Technology(up 1.43 per cent), Mindtree(up 1.39 per cent), Infosys(up 1.13 per cent) and HCL Technologies(up 0.51 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, MPhasis(down 2.48 per cent), Coforge(down 2.35 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 2.07 per cent), Tata Consultancy(down 0.28 per cent) and Wipro(down 0.04 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty IT index closed 0.14 per cent up at 27953.35.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 42.3 points at 15732.1, while the BSE Sensex stood down 153.13 points at 52693.57.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, RBL Bank, Ibull Housing Fin, Zomato Ltd. and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Dynacons Sys, Sonu Infratech Ltd., Apar Industries, Cool Caps Industries Ltd. and Kohinoor Foods hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Indiabulls Intgrtd, Aptus Value Housing, E2E Networks, G R Infraprojects Ltd. and HPCL hit their fresh 52-week lows.
