Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.14%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.
Shares of Coforge Ltd.(up 2.35 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(up 1.89 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 1.46 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(up 1.19 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.5 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.01 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.44 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.24 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.22 per cent) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.07 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.14 per cent up at 35920.3.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 34.81 points at 24414.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 105.71 points at 80746.78.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Welspun India, Suzlon Energy and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Bharat Seats, BSE, Reliance Naval & Engg, SRF and Aster DM Health hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Karda Const, Godha Cabcon & Insul, GI Engineering, Ind-Swift Labs and AGS Transact Tech hit their fresh 52-week lows.
