Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.13%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a positive note on Monday.
Shares of MphasiS Ltd.(up 1.44 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.82 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.56 per cent) and L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 0.09 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.42 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(down 0.4 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.31 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 0.26 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(down 0.23 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.13 per cent up at 30641.0.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 93.65 points at 19140.9, while the BSE Sensex stood up 329.85 points at 64112.65.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, JP Power, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank and IOB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Somi Conveyor, The Anup Engg, JP Associates, Plaza Wires and Sical Logistics hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Petronet LNG, V Mart Retail, Godha Cabcon & Insul, Gangotri Text and Arshiya hit their fresh 52-week lows.
