Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.13%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a positive note on Thursday.
Shares of LTIMindtree Ltd(up 1.74 per cent), Persistent Systems(up 1.2 per cent), Coforge(up 0.98 per cent), Infosys(up 0.44 per cent) and HCL Technologies(up 0.36 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Wipro(down 1.4 per cent), MPhasis(down 0.71 per cent), Tata Consultancy(down 0.3 per cent) and Tech Mahindra(down 0.06 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.13 per cent up at 28928.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 35.75 points at 18321.15, while the BSE Sensex stood up 98.84 points at 61872.62.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 ended in the green, while 21 closed in the red.
Shares of Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, Zomato, Indian Railway Fin and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Revathi Equip, Sky Gold, Onward Tech, Andhra Cements and Kingfa Science Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Power & Instrument, Jakharia Fabric, Sahyadri Ind, BEML Land Assets and Sanginita Chemicals hit their fresh 52-week lows.
