Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.09% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 10:04AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

MPhasis(up 0.93 per cent), L&T Technology(up 0.61 per cent), Persistent Systems(up 0.43 per cent), Coforge(up 0.34 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(up 0.27 per cent) were among the top gainers.

HCL Technologies(down 0.54 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 0.11 per cent) and Infosys(down 0.01 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was up 0.09 per cent at 29383.4 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 90.65 points at 18590.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 344.95 points at 62846.64.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 were trading in the green, while 14 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Reliance Power, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Centum Elec, Nucleus Soft, Ahluwalia Contr, Hercules Hoists and Ugro Capital hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sanwaria Consumer, Pritish Nandy, BKM Industries, Goenka Diamond and Setubandhan Infra hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
