Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.07% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:25AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 1.93 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 1.77 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 1.71 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.91 per cent) and Wipro Ltd.(up 0.4 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Coforge Ltd.(down 1.46 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 1.31 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.63 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(down 0.09 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was up 0.07 per cent at 41103.7 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 131.85 points at 22827.65, while the BSE Sensex was down 375.58 points at 75621.28.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 6 were trading in the green, while 44 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, PC Jeweller and Ola Electric Mobilit were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Norben Tea Exp, Blue Coast Hotel, Ajax Engineering, MPS Ltd and Aarti Pharmalabs hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Suratwwala Business, Innovana Thinklabs, Onelife Capital, Goodluck India and Astec Lifesc hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
