Stock market update: Nifty IT index 1.08% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded around 11:06AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

Wipro Ltd.(up 2.39 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.02 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(up 1.85 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(up 1.63 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 1.25 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.3 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was 1.08 per cent at 42203.60 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 40.55 points at 24158.8, while the BSE Sensex was 64.96 points at 79476.83.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SAIL, ITI Ltd, JP Power and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of JSW Holdings, Tera Software, Shiva Texyarn, GKW Ltd and Avalon Technologies hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Ola Electric Mobilit, Prince Pipes, Aditya Vision, Arman Financial and Brainbees Solutions hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
