Stock market update: Nifty IT index 0.53%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a note on Tuesday.

Shares of Coforge Ltd.(up 1.28 per cent) and Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 0.63 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 2.4 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.97 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.62 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.51 per cent) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.28 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty IT index closed 0.53 per cent at 45413.75.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 332.25 points at 24336.0, while the BSE Sensex stood 1064.12 points at 80684.45.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 1 ended in the green, while 49 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Zomato and PC Jeweller were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Indian Card Clothing, Kalyani Steels, Enviro Infra Enginee, RPP Infra Proj and Rudrabhishek Ent hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Odigma Consultancy, Uttam Sugar Mills, Spandana Sphoorty, Avenue Supermart and Asian Paints hit their fresh 52-week lows.
