Stock market update: Nifty IT index 0.49%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a note on Thursday.
Shares of L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 8.1 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 2.42 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(up 1.73 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(up 1.5 per cent) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.7 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.84 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 1.58 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 1.09 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.02 per cent) and Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 0.65 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.49 per cent at 43188.85.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 98.6 points at 23311.8, while the BSE Sensex stood 318.74 points at 77042.82.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 ended in the green, while 18 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Zomato, IDBI Bank and IRFC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Mazda Ltd, Ddev Plastiks Ind, Indo Thai Sec, Atlas Cycles and California Soft hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Noida Toll Bridge Co, Spacenet Enterprise, Lancor Holdings, SVP Global and GTPL Hathway hit their fresh 52-week lows.
