Stock market update: Nifty IT index 0.43% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded around 10:32AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.2 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 0.11 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.05 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Coforge Ltd.(down 2.87 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 1.03 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.58 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.39 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(down 0.27 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was 0.43 per cent at 42013.00 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 188.0 points at 23156.75, while the BSE Sensex was 766.49 points at 76306.95.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 9 were trading in the green, while 41 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Zomato, YES Bank, Coal India Ltd and Ibull Real Estate were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Reliance Naval & Engg, KRN Heat Exchanger, Atlas Cycles, Super Spinning and Cubex Tubings hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Noida Toll Bridge Co, Strides Shasun, Jai Balaji Inds, Barbeque-Nation Hosp and VRL Logistics hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
