Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.83% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:34AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

HDFC Bank(up 0.31 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 2.13 per cent), Bandhan Bank(down 1.96 per cent), IndusInd Bank(down 1.66 per cent), State Bank of India(down 1.33 per cent) and ICICI Bank(down 1.01 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Bank index was down 0.83 per cent at 36127.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 55.25 points at 17231.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 218.22 points at 57645.71.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, SAIL, NALCO and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Selan Expl Tech, Jindal Drilling, TTK Healthcare, Balrampur Chini and Shree Pushkar Chem hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while DRC Systems India Ltd., Future Retail, Felix Industries, Akash Infra-Proj and JMT Auto hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
