Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.77%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.77 per cent down at 44199.1.

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Friday.
Shares of Punjab National Bank(up 2.12 per cent), IDFCBANK(up 0.69 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(up 0.43 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.39 per cent) and State Bank of India(up 0.09 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, IndusInd Bank(down 2.3 per cent), ICICI Bank(down 1.17 per cent), HDFC Bank(down 1.04 per cent), Bandhan Bank(down 0.85 per cent) and Federal Bank(down 0.75 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.77 per cent down at 44199.1.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 114.8 points at 19428.3, while the BSE Sensex stood down 365.53 points at 65322.65.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 ended in the green, while 39 closed in the red.
Shares of Suzlon Energy, IOB, JP Power, YES Bank and Bank of Maharashtra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Redtape L, Oriana Power, Vinsys IT Services, MITCON Const & Engg. and Ashapura Mine hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while BKM Industries, Reliance Home Fin, Richa Info Systems L, Transindia Real Esta and Penta Gold hit their fresh 52-week lows.
