Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.75% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 11:11AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.
Axis Bank(up 0.02 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Bank of Baroda(down 2.67 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 2.6 per cent), IDFCBANK(down 2.28 per cent), IndusInd Bank(down 1.85 per cent) and Bandhan Bank(down 1.27 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.75 per cent at 43101.35 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 143.6 points at 18088.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 468.89 points at 60825.31.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 6 were trading in the green, while 44 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd. and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of SecUR Credentials, Radiant Cash Management Services Ltd., BLB Ltd., Pritika Engineering Components Ltd. and Jindal Worldwide hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Arihant Academy Ltd., Moxsh Overseas Educon Ltd., SKS Textiles, Indiabulls Enterprises Ltd. and Sumeet Ind hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
