Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.64%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.64 per cent down at 44300.95.

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Thursday.
Shares of Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.55 per cent) and State Bank of India(up 0.03 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 3.39 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 3.07 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 3.02 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 2.26 per cent) and Bank of Baroda(down 1.95 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.64 per cent down at 44300.95.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 192.9 points at 19523.55, while the BSE Sensex stood down 610.37 points at 65508.32.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 6 ended in the green, while 44 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, IOB, PNB, JP Power and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Bedmutha Ind, Quick Heal Tech, Mazda Ltd, MCX India and Pilani Invest hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while HAL, Sahaj Fashions, Jiwanram Sheoduttrai, Nuvama Wealth Manage and FutureLifestyleFash hit their fresh 52-week lows.
