Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.51% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 09:59AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

State Bank of India(down 1.23 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 0.95 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 0.85 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.74 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.72 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Bank index was down 0.51 per cent at 47802.0 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 18.46 points at 22547.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 121.47 points at 74074.78.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, NHPC, YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Tainwala Chem, GeeCee Ventures, Ausom Enterprise, HB Stockholding and HG Infra Engg hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Malu Paper Mill, Revathi Equip, Brightcom Group, Crown Lifters and Cubex Tubings hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
