Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.47% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 11:25AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.46 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bank of Baroda(down 3.33 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 2.02 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.92 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 0.84 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.82 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Bank index was down 0.47 per cent at 45610.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 83.65 points at 21855.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 228.14 points at 71959.56.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, IOB, Vodafone Idea, NHPC and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of MRO-TEK Realty, Xchanging Sol, Banaras Beads, Lagnam Spintex and Udayshivakumar Infra hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Butterfly Gandhi, Stampede Cap(DVR), Sheetal Cool, Kabra Extrusion and Vinati Organics hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
