Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.46%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Tuesday.
Shares of Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.29 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.41 per cent) and Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.22 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.63 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 1.06 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 1.03 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.99 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.57 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.46 per cent down at 47097.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 90.7 points at 20906.4, while the BSE Sensex stood down 377.5 points at 69551.03.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 ended in the green, while 31 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, JP Power and Infibeam Avenues were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Surana Solar, Energy Deve Co, Inox Green Energy Se, Williamson Magor and Urja Global hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vaxtex Cotfab, Blue Jet Healthcare, Bohra Industries, Raj Rayon and Winsome Yarns hit their fresh 52-week lows.
