Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.45%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Thursday.
Shares of IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.44 per cent) and Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.3 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Canara Bank(down 1.38 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 1.37 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 1.15 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 1.12 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 1.06 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.45 per cent down at 56956.0.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 120.85 points at 25355.25, while the BSE Sensex stood down 345.8 points at 83190.28.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 ended in the green, while 39 closed in the red.
Shares of JP Power, RattanIndia Power, Vodafone Idea, PC Jeweller and Sagility India were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Quality Power Electr, Crizac Ltd., Prostarm Info System, Lloyds Steels(PP)and Innovana Thinklabs hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Mahalaxmi Fabric Mil, TECIL Chemicals, Dreamfolks Services, Anisha Impex and Ola Electric Mobilit hit their fresh 52-week lows.
