Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.09%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.09 per cent down at 44837.5.

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Monday.
Shares of Punjab National Bank(up 0.75 per cent), Bandhan Bank(up 0.75 per cent), ICICI Bank(up 0.53 per cent), IndusInd Bank(up 0.4 per cent) and IDFCBANK(up 0.23 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, AU Small Finance Bank(down 1.75 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 1.02 per cent), State Bank of India(down 0.94 per cent), Axis Bank(down 0.51 per cent) and Federal Bank(down 0.41 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.09 per cent down at 44837.5.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 80.3 points at 19597.3, while the BSE Sensex stood up 232.23 points at 65953.48.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 ended in the green, while 14 closed in the red.
Shares of Indian Railway Fin, Zomato, Reliance Power, Vodafone Idea and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Birla Cable, Motor Gen Fin, Universal Cable, Patel Integrat and Hindprakash Industri hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Synoptics Technologi, SITI Networks, Parenteral Drug, Godha Cabcon & Insul and CMI Ltd hit their fresh 52-week lows.
