Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.04% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:45AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

Bandhan Bank(up 3.88 per cent), Federal Bank(up 1.17 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 0.86 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.47 per cent) and State Bank of India(up 0.11 per cent) were among the top gainers.

ICICI Bank(down 0.68 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 0.33 per cent), HDFC Bank(down 0.12 per cent) and IDFCBANK(down 0.09 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Bank index was down 0.04 per cent at 40592.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 23.0 points at 17336.75, while the BSE Sensex was down 110.86 points at 58880.66.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Rail Vikas Nigam, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy and GMR Infra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Systango Technologie, TTK Healthcare, Asian Hotels, IZMO and Pondy Oxides hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vikas Proppant & Gr, Eastern Silk, Nirman Agri Genetics, Seya Industries and Hindprakash Industri hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
