Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.02% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:04AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.
Punjab National Bank(up 3.4 per cent), IDFCBANK(up 1.7 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 1.61 per cent), Bandhan Bank(up 0.8 per cent) and Axis Bank(up 0.78 per cent) were among the top gainers.
ICICI Bank(down 0.61 per cent), HDFC Bank(down 0.51 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.21 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.02 per cent at 43937.15 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 84.2 points at 19380.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 243.99 points at 65295.43.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, Suzlon Energy, Reliance Power and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Chaman Lal Setia, Megasoft, Integrated Personnel, Cochin Shipyard and Kothari Sugars hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Godha Cabcon & Insul, Service Care, Penta Gold, Oriana Power and Redtape L hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
