Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 1.22% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:55AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Bandhan Bank(up 2.57 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(up 2.28 per cent), Federal Bank(up 1.55 per cent), ICICI Bank(up 1.51 per cent) and State Bank of India(up 1.41 per cent) were among the top gainers.

RBLBANK(down 1.03 per cent) and IDFCBANK(down 0.3 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Bank index was up 1.22 per cent at 37949.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 107.55 points at 17853.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 366.17 points at 59968.01.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of JP Power, Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank and GMR Infra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Vardhman Hold, KPIT Tech, Salzer Electro, OM Metal Infra and Share India Sec hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Shri Ram Switchgears, Foce India Ltd., A and M Jumbo Bags L, PayTM and Mas Fin Services hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
