Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 1.11% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 11:00AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

IndusInd Bank(up 4.92 per cent), RBLBANK(up 3.81 per cent), Axis Bank(up 2.96 per cent), Federal Bank(up 1.84 per cent) and State Bank of India(up 1.7 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bandhan Bank(down 0.26 per cent), HDFC Bank(down 0.07 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.01 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Bank index was up 1.11 per cent at 36090.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 167.9 points at 17151.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 569.27 points at 57634.14.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Power, Trident Ltd and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Sirca Paints, KDDL Ltd, Mukta Arts, Kotyark Industries Ltd. and Talbros Auto hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Nidan Laboratories And Healthcare Ltd., Urja Global(PP), Crown Lifters, Focus Lighting and Asian Hotels(W)hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
