Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 1.08% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:55AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

HDFC Bank(up 2.08 per cent), ICICI Bank(up 1.28 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 1.25 per cent), IndusInd Bank(up 0.99 per cent) and Bandhan Bank(up 0.77 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Federal Bank(down 0.72 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Bank index was up 1.08 per cent at 42052.7 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 269.3 points at 18297.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 968.85 points at 61582.55.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 45 were trading in the green, while 5 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of DCX Systems Ltd., RPG Life Sci, QMS Medical Allied Services Ltd., Sikko Industries and Varanium Cloud Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sigma Solve, Williamson Magor, Educomp Sols., Supriya Lifescience Ltd. and CLC Industries hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
