Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.74% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 11:16AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

AU Small Finance Bank(up 2.16 per cent), Bandhan Bank(up 1.62 per cent), Axis Bank(up 1.21 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.02 per cent) and ICICI Bank(up 0.98 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bank of Baroda(down 0.81 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Bank index was up 0.74 per cent at 44020.65 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 57.75 points at 18239.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 237.67 points at 61798.31.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, BLS Int. Services, Zomato and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Tilaknagar Ind, GE T&D India, The Anup Engg, Quicktouch Technolog and Jindal Saw hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SITI Networks, Omkar Speciality, SEL Manufact, Dangee Dums and Cerebra Integrat hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
