Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.73%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.73 per cent up at 37982.1.

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Thursday.
Shares of RBLBANK(up 6.35 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 4.44 per cent), Federal Bank(up 4.43 per cent), Axis Bank(up 2.88 per cent) and State Bank of India(up 2.78 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, HDFC Bank(down 0.88 per cent), ICICI Bank(down 0.87 per cent) and Bandhan Bank(down 0.56 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.73 per cent up at 37982.1.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 167.8 points at 17110.15, while the BSE Sensex stood down 581.21 points at 57276.94.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 ended in the green, while 35 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, JP Power, PNB, Zomato Ltd. and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Mahalaxmi Rub, Atal Realtech, TV18 Broadcast, Ambica Agarbathies & Aroma Industries Ltd. and Gujarat Ambuja hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while IndiaMART, CarTrade Tech, Uniinfo Telecom Serv, Hind Nat Glass and Dynamic Services & Security Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
