Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.68% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:54AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Bank of Baroda(up 3.0 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 2.0 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.5 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.37 per cent) and State Bank of India(up 1.03 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.68 per cent at 52199.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 86.96 points at 25337.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 384.03 points at 82881.13.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, JP Power, YES Bank and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of The Grob Tea Company, BF Utilities, Redtape, Ujaas Energy and Power & Instrument hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MEP Infrastructure, Keerti Knowledge, Filatex Fashions, 8K Miles Soft and U Y Fincorp hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
