Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.56% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:39AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 2.52 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 1.98 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.22 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.13 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(up 0.86 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.19 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Bank index was up 0.56 per cent at 47755.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 143.85 points at 22101.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 432.55 points at 72836.72.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, IDFC First Bank and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Hindustan Zinc, Commercial Engg, Vijaya Diagnostic, Tara Chand Logistic and Dolphin Offshore hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Future Supply Chain, Lakshmi Precis, Popular Vehicles, Keerti Knowledge and S & S Power Switch hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
