Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.47%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.47 per cent up at 44327.8.

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.
Shares of IDFCBANK(up 1.85 per cent), IndusInd Bank(up 1.38 per cent), HDFC Bank(up 1.06 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.65 per cent) and Axis Bank(up 0.51 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bandhan Bank(down 1.91 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 0.88 per cent), Federal Bank(down 0.73 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 0.5 per cent) and AU Small Finance Bank(down 0.27 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.47 per cent up at 44327.8.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 154.7 points at 18972.1, while the BSE Sensex stood up 499.39 points at 63915.42.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 ended in the green, while 8 closed in the red.
Shares of Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, YES Bank and BEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of JBM Auto, Veekayem Fashion, V-Marc India, Dhunseri Petrochem and Windsor Machine hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Ansal Prop, Penta Gold, Varanium Cloud, Urban Enviro Waste and Power & Instrument hit their fresh 52-week lows.
