Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.37% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:51AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

HDFC Bank(up 0.93 per cent), IndusInd Bank(up 0.83 per cent), Federal Bank(up 0.79 per cent), ICICI Bank(up 0.75 per cent) and State Bank of India(up 0.64 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.36 per cent) and Axis Bank(down 0.71 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Bank index was up 0.37 per cent at 44437.3 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 49.0 points at 18775.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 162.46 points at 63305.42.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Reliance Power, Vodafone Idea and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of JBM Auto, Sahyadri Ind, Zen Tech, Nirman Agri Genetics and Pressman Advertisin hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while NIIT, Parin Furniture, Auro Impex & Chemic, Praxis Home Retail and Cerebra Integrat hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
