Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.35% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:50AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Federal Bank(up 1.43 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.74 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.68 per cent), HDFC Bank(up 0.51 per cent) and Bandhan Bank(up 0.37 per cent) were among the top gainers.

State Bank of India(down 0.04 per cent) and IndusInd Bank(down 0.02 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Bank index was up 0.35 per cent at 41876.95 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 104.3 points at 18120.15, while the BSE Sensex was up 369.9 points at 61644.99.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Brightcom Group, YES Bank, Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd. and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Bodhi Tree Multimed, Soma Textiles, Spectrum Electrical, Saksoft Ltd and Sarthak Metals hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Suumaya Lifestyle, Sanwaria Consumer, Zee Learn, KHFM Hospitality and Ansal Prop hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
