Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.27% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:04AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Punjab National Bank(up 4.54 per cent), State Bank of India(up 1.84 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 1.77 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.85 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 0.53 per cent) were among the top gainers.

IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.48 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.51 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.3 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 0.27 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.21 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Bank index was up 0.27 per cent at 52951.25 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 98.0 points at 24142.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 286.4 points at 79529.58.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, PNB, HFCL, Indus Towers and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Kalyani Invst, Bombay Burmah, Solara Active Pharma(PP), Burnpur Cement and NBI Industrial hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Akme Fintrade(India, Stampede Cap, Reliance Home Fin, Integra Garment and Paras Petrofils hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
