Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.06% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 11:21AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Bandhan Bank(up 2.97 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.82 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.52 per cent), Axis Bank(up 0.3 per cent) and Bank of Baroda(up 0.19 per cent) were among the top gainers.

IndusInd Bank(down 0.57 per cent), Federal Bank(down 0.48 per cent), HDFC Bank(down 0.31 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(down 0.2 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(down 0.2 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Bank index was up 0.06 per cent at 43981.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 42.3 points at 18390.3, while the BSE Sensex was up 158.65 points at 62140.44.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Reliance Power, TV18 Broadcast, Indian Railway Fin and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Gayatri Rubbers, BEW Engineering, Indo Tech Trans, Dreamfolks Services and Va Tech Wabag hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Auro Impex & Chemic, SEL Manufact, Lagnam Spintex, Vikas Multicorp and SITI Networks hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
