Stock market update: Nifty Bank index 1.82% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded around 10:56AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

Axis Bank Ltd.(down 6.01 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 2.38 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 2.17 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 1.31 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 1.3 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Bank index was 1.82 per cent at 48382.90 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 179.9 points at 23131.9, while the BSE Sensex was 669.53 points at 76373.29.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, HFCL, IRFC and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Quadrant Future Tek, Ashapura Minechem, Aeroflex Industries, TCPL Packaging and Atlas Cycles hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Axis Bank, Noida Toll Bridge Co, Globale Tessile, Jai Corp and SVP Global hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
